The whole Hainan island weather is a little different from the tropical oceanic monsoon climate Sanya weather, the Hainan Island is characterized with the tropical monsoon climate and the tropical oceanic climate. Basic Hainan weather character: indistinct four seasons, Hainan temperature is not too high in the summer, not too cold in the winter, with yearly average temperature stays at 22.5-25.6ˇăC., Dry and rainy seasons are indistinct, winter & spring are dry season, summer & autumn are rainy seasons with quite some of tropical storms, cyclone and typhoon.
Hainan sunlight:
Hainan island is locate in the south of tropic of cancer, except some of the a mountainous area has approximately 1750 hours yearly sunlight because of the cloudy weather, most of the place has a yearly sunlight hours over 2000, the west and south area sunlight even extending to 2400-2600 hours. The longest sunlight comes on July of the summer, and the shortest sunlight comes on February of winter.
Hainan temperature:
Most of area on Hainan Island has yearly average temperature in between 22.5-25.6ˇăC, it has warm weather all year around, the highest average temperature falls in July-August at 25-29ˇć and the lowest average temperature falls in January-February at 16-24ˇć. In the middle mountainous area the temperature is a little lower than 23ˇăC, while the south and west a little higher than 25ˇăC. Hainan temperature isotherm arc down to the south, it increases by degrees from middle mountainous area to the seashore.
Extreme temperature:
Hainan Island extreme high temperature, north area approximately 39ˇăC, middle area approximately 37-39ˇăC, west and southern seashore are lower than 36ˇăC, currently, extreme temperature falls on May, June or July.
Hainan Island extreme low temperatures mainly happen on Jan. sometime on Feb. or Dec. Yearly average extreme low temperature, middle mountainous area lower than 5ˇăC, most area are 6-8ˇăC, south seashore area a little over 10ˇăC.
